Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] NEED HELP!!! Rooting 4.3

so i'm seeing that people with the GSM S3 are getting the update.

thats pretty weak if metro is holding out on CDMA S3 users. trying to squeeze people to update.

its more of the gsm s3 is the exact same thing as the tmobile one, so a few text changes and boom they have an update for another "carrier" ours is a bit more than that.

beisdes, didn't people already get the update like 3 weeks ago? hasn't everyone gotten it by now? :)

so ldrifta was buggin me in irc about 4.3 and all that jazz. seems the uscc people got their 4.3 update a bit ago but are having a spot of trouble with it. if you use the 4.1.2 bootloader it breaks wifi, you need to use the knox enabled 4.3 bootloader.

There's custom 4.3 dkp kernel for uscc wifi works with it.

cool beans. I'm posting my sprint phone on ebay in the next few weeks, if anyone happens to be browseing ebay and finds a decent deal lemme know. I found one that was "hard bricked" which a simple unbricking would fix but it also has a cracked glass and the guy wants 125 for it.

average consumer would have to pay for replace glass and a jtagging setting them back an extra 80-90 bucks and that just seems pretty expensive for an s3 :/

It says on Metro's facebook that the update is rolling out. I went back to stock unrooted and checked but so far there's no update here in LA. :/

samthegam When you say
quote:However, MetroPCS Easy Wifi is no longer included /end

Did it replace with a new interface? I use a 3rd party anyway, however for my friends who don't know/don't use 3rd party Wi-Fi app. Curious what they will use to scan/find networks? (I guess "Easy WiFi" never did anyway?).

Figured I'd chirp, bit late, have not checked any other thread, but germane to this.

IF you go to Sasmsung (Official)---When you view the T-Mobile S3-Page---about 1/2 down it says click here for MetroPCS Customers

What version of the Android
This is data as of 12/19/2013--so not too out of date

An upgrade is available for the Metro PCS Samsung Galaxy S

edit, seems i was mistaken.

anyways you have the new knox bootloaders, if you wish to root it will void that and trip the counter. there will never be a way to reset it, but you can have root. if you dont mind then flash recovery and flash superuser SuperSU Download and youll have root.

anyone else who gets this prompt dont install it yet, ill be working on making it root friendly so everyone can update without locking their device down.

hey shabby...can u link me yout root method for 4.3? please and thank you big man!!
