so i hard bricked my phone. anyone in the ft lauderdale / miami area have a JIG i could borrow t get this POS into download mode? would pay or buy u ;) hit my up if u do greatly appreciated! thanks
 
Have you checked xda or Youtube for hard brick help? There are ways of doing it without JTAG.
 
man i have been searchng for 24 hours non stop nothing besides going to radio shack and making one but im not one for soldering and i dont have a solder gun anyway ;(
 
ya i was reading that but.. once again the sd card reader on my laptop is for digi cam only i think so i guess i could go buy one and try it .. thought it might be easier to borrow a jig for somone ;P

dude just buy the usb adaptor for the sdcards.. like 5 bucks makes it so you can plug it in usb 2.0 :D
 
a jig wont help you. it was used in old days to boot into download mode, you apparently erased download mode, otherwise youd be booting ;)

you can either do the sdcard unbrick, or pay for a jtag. mobiletechvideos charges 50 bucks, i can give ya a code to get 5% off bringing it down to 45 bucks to have it fixed by them.
 
Sorry to bump. hey shabby is this suppose to work if i bricked VIA flashing wrong kernel? heh i am going to keep trying over the next day or s b4 i give up ;)
 
its designed to work if you formatted everything off your phone, going to guess you flashed an international kernel and no longer have a bootloader?
 
yup :) if you cant like i said jtagging will get it fixed as well. if you even decide that's not worth your time unusable s3's are selling for 150ish on ebay.
 
Well after about 400 tries doing the sdcard trick using windows, and linux to try it my phone is still dead 100% wont turn on only way i can even get a charge light to come on is if i plyug it in when battery is not connected LOL guess im out of a gs3 :P good excuse to buy a new phone i suppose just wanted to thank everyone who tried to help me with this issue much appreciated.
 
so i want to give this one more go b4 i give up. can anyone tell me if a class 4 SD card will work or does it need to be class 10? i think thats what my problem might be. second off the white metro gs3 was 16 gig right?
 
i replie dto your pm but figured id post here so its available for the public to see etc. the speed of the sdcard shouldnt matter, but ive honestly never heard of anyone trying it without class 10. from my understanding it scans your sdcard on boot and sees a properly formatted partition layout and instead boots from that. which you should have if you flashed teh image to your sdcard.
 
yes its all there all 23+ partitions ;P i used windows method to get it on there correctly then used the parted print command in linux to make sure it went on there properly ;P my battery was very low when this happened i hope its not just dead battery stopping it from booting cause i cant charge it now LOL
 
ya i have seen on other posts for other carriers the OP saying it had to be class 6 others say class 10 LOL i really dont understand why that would make a difference honestly but just wanted to check here b4 i blew 20 on a new sd card
