Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] No Voice and Text after Stock Flash. 4G works

kmm730

Newbie
Hey,

So I used to be running on CM 10.2 and cwm and flashed a stock rom but I lost 4G. Only 1x worked at the time.

I decided to flash using odin the MB2 tar to try to get it back to stock. I've tried this multiple times with multiple tars (I have 8 on my counter) and each time I get the same problem, I have 4G data but I do not have voice or text. I tried doing some of the keypad codes but each time I get the message: "Mobile network not available"

It is now Android version 4.1.2.

What is odd is the following under status:

Network: "Searching for Service"

It gives me the signal strength and says LTE:14 for the mobile network type.

Roaming: Not Roaming

Mobile Network State: Connected

My phone number: Unknown

MIN: Unknown

PRL version: 0

The IMEI shows however.

Is there a procedure to get voice and text working again? I didnt back up nv, is that what I should have done? I was gonna take it to metro tomorrow hoping they can flash voice and data back onto it but I'm worried about my flash counter. Should I update now that I am stock? Please advise.

no beuno, should I just go to the store and have them reflash it? they'll see the counter and give me problems, right?

I took it to a metropcs store, they said they tried to flash it OTA and manually, what they called a "master flash" and it still doesnt work. They said to take it to their corporate store but I'm sure theres somebody here that can help me.

I flashed that modem. Still not working. Everything in the about menu is still as stated above. please advise

It probably wouldnt work but it could be worth a shot. Have you tried manually adding a PRL to the phone? If data works (LTE) but voice/text (cdma) do not work and your PRL states 0, it couldnt hurt to try.

can you link me to a good prl or tutorial? and my phone number is unknown still. How do i flash that over? I've been looking into CDMA workshop...

I did a system update from 4.1 to 4.3. I also tried flashing 4.3 and the modem on Odin. When I type that command and hit call, I see the activation screen but it is grayed out and a pop up message saying "mobile network not available" keeps me from using it

Try with nv restore

Happened to me once on the lg esteem and once on the gs3 it was nv issue metro was able to fix the lg but I had to call in for that gs3 I back up my nv so fixed it myself

I ended up getting a gs5 on metro but I'm still determined to fix this phone. nicklovell23 What do I need to do with adb? And jahunt78 can you be a little bit clearer on what you did

If you have adb plug your phone in while it's booted then from adb directory run terminal: adb reboot nvrestore

It will reboot when it boots back up you should be good. If not try *228

First called customer service told them I had 4g but couldn't make calls I had to explain things a couple times before they got what I was saying but I had to give the numbers of the back of the phone and they were able to get it working again and it actually needs to b done again but im not using it anymore second time I used the lgpst program or what it's called to do it myself
