l is going to kick the SIII butt and have some headache's but lucky Tylenol is still available. And someone please keep me away from google, im about 2 clicks away from the purchase button for the Nexus 4.

are u considering it? i checked their coverage i get no g4 coverage in tampa but does say they expanding but for $5 im not gonna complain. but it does have advantage that users can buy unlocked phones to use on their network. and probaly the only phone that would interest me more than the phone i have now is the galaxy note 2 everything else is blah. but anyways back to topic this thread is border line from being a mess it was opened for a purpose for which has not been figured out yet. so please guys lets give drift some ideas on what we could use on this community hes a real talented member that does roms and compiles kernels dont let his humbleness fool ya hes real talented! with that being said ive seen two threads of people wanting a stock 4.1.2 jelly bean rom compiled with out all the extra bells and whistles. so i say thats one thing that perhaps we can ask for. im also aware of chiwen taking a poke at it so perhaps they can work on it together.

Lol yeah, things do tend to get out of hand. Here's an idea though...help with boosting signal strength.
 
A badass kernel for battery life would be nice. And pip which is supposed to be next to impossible like on the note 2 :D

And porting pa is still not happening right since its not all open source?

no i was considering going simple mobile before my mom offered to add me to her family plan.

i can look into compiling aosp for you guys, it will be a nice aosp rom but wont have any features of cm/aokp/bb. normally those kind of things are usually on nexus devices only cuz no one cares much about aosp..

hey shabby is possible to make a a stock jelly bean rom with customizations added?

i imagine you could take another carriers jb rom, frankenstein it with hacks and patches and ductape to get data going well enough. then add in mods that are available for stock based roms

edit: didnt stay anywhere :P im on sprint. i have a galaxy nexus i just happen to liek helping out prepaid devices as you gusy dont have a lot of devs to work on stuff. i do plan on switching to metro when i can afford it but ill be getting teh lg motion.

you say that like ive done a lot around here :P

i tried my hand at doing a stock deodexed for you guys. its a nightmare. idk what went wrong with it and i cant be bothered to spend 2 hours uploading a rom and waiting for someone to test it to find out it doenst boot/install etc etc.

if i was going to do a stock based rom for you guys it would be off yalls rom anyways as thats where things will work best

i see also i heard PG tried and no luck with the src way if only cm10 had the ablility to make a special cm10 for s3 where it has at least a bit of smasungs features lol

there is no source way. stock roms are already compiled, thats why you cnat have cool things like the theme manager or the customization like cm/aokp/bb. you take a dump of system and literally just play with it in a texteditor, or 7zip/winzip

its why stock based roms are looked down upon in the dev scene cuz they require almost no skill

you are confusing mods with customizations. a lot of stock based roms are nothing but a theme, some build.prop tweaks (that they googled), and a few apps from the market preinstalled.

then you have something like clean rom:

so it has a modified kernel, a toggle mod (for teh notifications), has power off, reboot etc in the power menu. im not sure i understand what the no ongoing wifi thing is tho. the biggest feature he offers is an aroma based install, which i can tell ya isnt a small task. its easy just very very very time consuming, my hats off to anyone that does it.

other than that its pretty much the exact stock rom you already have. i picked his rom due to the request to port it, it just happens his rom is based on making a very close to stock rom with added features so he isnt trying to overdo it with crap that many do. some of the crazier ones will have hideous themes and 17 bulletpoints to explain 3 features.

my point is those are all teh mods done to stock rom. im sure any person here could name a crapload of features of a AOSP based rom as they are fairly standard across the board.
