Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Slow battery charging

It takes me 8 hours or more to get a full charge. Does anyone know why and/or a fix for this. Running illusion with lean kernel 4.6.
 
I was having the same problem before that Market update leave my phone plug over night and still would not be %100 seem to have been fix with the new market update for me at least..
 
My charger was also the problem. Whenever I used anyone else's charger, it would charger a lot faster. My cable wasn't peeled or anything. So idk why was it happening. I bought me a 6ft cable from eBay, and it charges way faster than the OEM one.
 
I agree with those that are saying to get a new cord/cable. I had a similar problem some time ago when I was still on the stock ROM (so I know it was not a custom ROM causing the problem) and a new cord/cable solved the problem. I got mine off of Amazon but I don't remember which one it was. One thing to keep in mind though, not all third party cords/cables are the same. I have heard that some of the cheap long ones only make things worse. Go for quality and shielding over price. Saving a few bucks probably is not worth it.
 
Chipping in my two cents here... My Samsung cable and wall charge are slow... If I'm using the phone while charging battery will decrease... My huawei charger is beast and keeps charging while using the phone...
 
I had the same problem. I bought a cord from Walmart that solved the problem. It even works when I plug the phone into my computer. The computer recognized my phone & everything. I don't remember the name, but it was in a blue package, had the USB symbol on the black cord in white. The symbol was both ends of the cord. It was $9.99. & 3ft long. Hope this helps...
