Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Stuck on CyanogenMod animation

So I rooted my phone, then tried to flash CyanogenMod 10 from Clock Work ROM manager. I downloaded the zip file of CyanogenMod then copied it to my internal storage. Now I am stuck on the CyanogenMod animation. I tried removing the batter and it goes back to the animation, help please!!!!!!

Apologies for asking the obvious, but did you do a factory data reset before flashing? You always need to wipe the phone when changing ROMs. If you didn't, going into recovery and doing it now will fix the phone, but there will be data loss if you didn't back up (eg Titanium Backup) first.

The other question is whether you took a backup from ClockworkMod before doing this? If so, going back into recovery and restoring this will get the phone working again.

Otherwise I'm afraid we'll need someone who knows this phone to give advice. This is fixable, but it's better to get advice from someone familiar with the device.

Stay calm. Something similar happened to me.

List of things you will need:
1. Rooted Phone
2. Clockwork Mod or other custom recovery tool.
3. A computer
4. A USB cable
5. Cyonagen Mod rom or alternatively community rom.

Step 1: Boot into recovery by pressing the power button, volume UP and home button at the same time.

Step 2: Go to "Mounts and Storage". Select either "mount /sdcard" or "mount /external_sd".

Step 3: Connect your phone to your computer and copy your ROM to the internal or external storage.

Step 4: Wipe cache/data & factory reset.

Step 5: Flash your custom ROM by pressing Apply sdcard update.zip. Alternatively you can select the folder the ROM is located in.

Step 6: ????

Step 7: Reboot

Step 8: PROFIT!!


If that doesn't work or you lost clockwork mod, you can always download Odin Tool and put your phone in Download Mode by pressing power, Volume DOWN, and Home at the same time. You will need to download the Samsung drivers for your phone. You can find this in one of the threads here.

EDIT: Oh and you might want to do a Nandroid backup next time. They don't take long and can save you headaches in the future. You make one by going to recovery and Back Up & Restore. Alternatively you can try Online Nandroid Back Up *ROOT from the Play store. It allows you to do a hot nandroid backup while your phone is in regular use. It will run in the background and takes about the same time as a regular recovery back up. PLUS, its free!

Same thing happen to me last Thursday when I got my S3 I was like WTF!? lol. Just wipe data/factory reset as said before, you'll be good.
