Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Troubleshooting help please

Whenever I have WiFi connected and I reboot the phone, it always starts up showing WiFi is on but it doesn't scan or see any wireless signals, even though it shows its on (in both notification toggles and in system settings show WiFi is on).

Turning WiFi off/on again from the notification toggles does not work even though it shows it is. Going into system settings and turning WiFi on that way works and it connects normally after that, until I reboot again and the process repeats.

I had been running BB final but last nite I flashed king kang to check it out and ran into the same WiFi issue after reboot.

After that I went back to stock rooted and found I could reboot and WiFi reconnected properly every time.

I'm back on a fresh download and install of BB and the wifi issue is back. I'm living with the issue as Its really just an annoyance and I really like BB best.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Thanks much.

I really appreciate your reply.

No themes applied. Any changes in ui are via BBs settings.

I hope its a bug but don't think it is. I've searched for an issue like this and haven't found anything helpfull as if yet. I feel that someone else would have reported this well before me if it was a bug. Im worried its the phone. :(
Or the router?

Suppose its just my phone....no ideas?

I tried this out this morning for ya. BB rom for me. When I restarted after leaving WiFi on I had no issues. I'll test again tonight.

Edit - restarted again, no issues. Used toggle off than on and it worked. Same for testing without toggling. Connected right away and all my news feeds instantly connected too

I havn't experience any wifi issues either with bb6 i'm not sure how great you wifi signal is around your home or where ever your using it at but here at my home my wifi auto connects to my network without any probs. I dont think this might your prob but usually its best you keep your wifi router away from microwaves or cordless phones since it interferes with your router's signal. also helps to change wireless channels for best signal reception.

There are times after a restart where WiFi won't come back at all, no matter what buttons I push. Clearing cache from twrp and it finally connects properly.

I'm fairly certain its not the router because it won't scan to see any WiFi signals. Until after I try turning it on and off for a while or clearing dalvik.

Yea I'd say its like its stuck or something. Sometimes I can get it to unstick other times I have to twrp it loose.

But once its on, its good.

I'm no more than 5ft from my router. No microwaves. Laptop, tablet have no issue. Its not a signal issue. I've got to see about making a video of what happens.

I think perhaps it could be an app trying to get data access before WiFi has a chance to re engage. As a result bit locks up? Idk

Thanks for or ideas! Everybody!

that could be it but out of my 5 homescreens, i have 10 widgets i think that all need to connect and do so without an issue. Maybe it is an app that is using wifi when you shutdown that is causing the error. Maybe try restarting with different apps on/connected to narrow down the choice or reflash the rom, dont install/unfreeze any apps and see if it happens at that time? Just trying to give ya some options.

Had it happen to me in king kang too but not stock. Doesn't happen like that every time. Sometimes it connects right away. Other times Wifi just won't turn on no matter what I do.

What do you think about rebooting the phone a few times in safe mode?

Go to your router firmware page and check and see if your router is in need of an update.

The Airplane mode switchseems to be the best way to recover without having to turn the handset off/on.But sounds like a hardware problem, seen similar post about some samsung s2 and s3 with same problems.

Might need to make some adjustment on wifi sleep policy, but before doing that get with shabby or PG.
