Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Which one would I get?

I just got back from a Local MetroPCS Store and I am replacing my White Galaxy S3. I am wondering would I get the blue one because there not selling the white one anymore. Plus I would really love to have the blue one instead of the white one. Also is it a new one or refurbished?

It would be refurbished, and as far as which one they would give you . I think they would give u the white one again since the blue one is more expensive and there are still white ones IN STOCK but just not being circulated

But I still have my phone and they said there ordering one for me. So it's not new? Are refurbished phones good?

They are ordering a refurbished one from corp . and sometimes there is one small flaw. I got one once with the home button kinda sunken in

One last thing. Do they replace the screen with a new one? Because I don't want a screen with a burn in because used Amoled Panels burn in much quicker or already have burn in when you get it.

If it's order threw assurion than it will be a new phone in the box with everything, and you will pay a deductible and send them the old phone back once you receive the new phone.

If possible, get the blue one. I've been steadily losing 4G LTE coverage since the T-Mobile merger with my CDMA version here in LA and the GSM variant would be a lot more futureproof than the white one.

Are you guys replacing your white SG3 because something is broke or because CDMA will soon be no more? I hate knowing I spent $500 on a phone that's just alittle over a year old just not to be able to use it cuz it's CDMA. Wondering if I should go to my local store and give them s#*t! Any Advice?

My advice would be that your wonderment about giving your local store "s#*t!" would be misdirected and ignorant.

Not sure I can tell you why all people are replacing their phones but some are trying to get a guarantee that an insurance replacement would net them a GSM phone which gives them a cheap/backdoor way to upgrade their current service.

As of this moment, there is still no new, verified information that I have seen which states CDMA will stop working any time soon. Since the merger, my crappy 1.5 x 1.5 market (Philly) has seen some growth and I hope it continues to get better. A lot of coverage deals with where you live. If you were to follow in the foot steps of someone in a completely different coverage area you could end up with a different outcome.

Metro and Tmobile announced that they would be combining their LTE networks and from what I have read and seen in the past week, it has already been done in TX. The person posting their speedtest was using an LG Motion.

I appreciate the information I was just hoping I didn't waste $500 on a phone that might be useless down the line. As for the "giving them s#*t" comment, it was kinda in a joking manner, my apologies if it came across the wrong way.

Well I spoke with Assurion for a possible replacement since my screen is shattered....
They stated that they have a stock of CDMA/SGS3 so therefore that is what I would get for $129 deductible replacement.
I am discontinuing MetroGuard. It is not helping me at this point.

I don't know a whole lot about how it works but from what I understand, CDMA phones will eventually receive a ROM upgrade that will move the voice stream over to the LTE (Data stream). This is known as VOLTE (Voice over LTE). Don't know how well it works or anything else about it but it is my understanding that this is how MetroPCS is going to solve the problem of newer CDMA phones still using their network.
