Root [MetroPCS] F6 Data Partition Zeroed - How To Do Restore in TWRP?

How do I completely restore a zeroed data partition from within TWRP recovery?

I'm a newbie wih an LG Optimus F6. I've had good luck (until now) with unlocking, rooting the phone and uninstalling stock apps. I never changed the ROM though.

It was trying the SD card hack (http://androidforums.com/threads/sd-card-hack-to-increase-internal-memory.882907/ ) that became my undoing. Ended up with an endless boot animation. I guess that I made things worse by rebooting into TWRP recovery by holding the power button and the volume-down simultaneously. My data partition has been zeroed out in the way that is well known here.

I do have a TWRP (nandroid?) back-up that I had created when I successfully installed hroark13's version of TWRP 2.6.3.0 and can access it from within TWRP. I just don't know how to now do a restore for the data partition that is in the current state.

What's now holding me back is that I don't know how to format the data partition from within TWRP recovery to do the restore if it's possible to do it at all.

Will I need to do an unbrick of my phone by using one of the following methods?

What are the other possibilities?

Many thanks.

Use testdisk, after connecting the phone to a PC. Stay in TWRP while connected and you should be able to mount/unmount data and see it with ADB...

Partition recovery. Though if it's zeroed, I'm not sure it'll work. You can try. I've deleted partitions and ended up being able to recover them with testidisk.

Once you get /data back, your phone should boot.

Edit: I know in Linux you can mount ADB stuffs as a hard drive through ADB, though not sure on Windows. Otherwise use a card reader with Windows and do it that way...use file recovery.

Edit 2: Just realized a card reader would be for external sd card only. Looks like creating a mount point with ADB is your only option.
