Root [MetroPCS] Is it safe to root LG Optimus F6 (metro) using Framaroot 1.9.1 apk while on V12B (newest) software?

I followed instructions on how to root android devices without using a computer. This is suppose to work with a lot of android devices. I downloaded the Framaroot apk off of the 4Shared app from play store. It's version 1.9.1 (latest), by Nicolo' R. I was wondering if it is safe/reliable to root via the app while running the newest OTA/stock software (V12B)? I just need a simple root access, will this work?

Inside the Framaroot app, it tells me to select an exploit in the list to root my device. The choices are:

Aragorn:

Gandalf:

Which should I choose for this phone?

Framaroot doesn't work, but if you want to try then click on "gandalf" since this is a qualcomm device. Don't worry it wont cause any harm if it doesn't work.

I successfully rooted by following these 3 guides to help me root and still be on 12b:

http://androidforums.com/metropcs-o...rooting-f6-recovery-updated-12b-4-9-14-a.html (to root)

Unbrick/Unroot/Factory Restore - Android Creations (get on 10i in order to root via first link)

Root and 2nd-init CWM Recovery - Android Creations (minus the cwm, used it as a guide to backup the root so that when I upgraded to 12b, I can get the root back)

Hey thanks for the links kools.

I like links.

Links are our friends.

I have a suggestion BEFORE rooting as we all know after we root we start tweaking and messing with to much stuff.

The suggestion is because it I rooted and messed before I Sim unlocked me F6 and all the other GSMers I have ever had.

Spent another 3-4 hours trying to Sim unlock me phone cause I froze or removed a system app that allowed the Service Provider popup page to open so I could put in Service Provider Unlock code that MetroPCS provided.

Backup didn't work.... had to restore form KDZ what a Learning curve?
To bad cmw restore doesn't have a "verify" like Macrium Reflect does for windose.

So with all that said....
We maybe should Sim unlock the device . . . Before rooting and messing with the system, so we don't waste time fixing something? LOL!

Thanks you-all!

Now to root, lock root, install cmw, bkup, than upgrade, bkup again and onward to GTs ROM..... groovy!
