Root [MetroPCS] KDZ to make 12B w/ root available to others?

Hi,

So I'm about to root my phone. It's currently 12B vanilla so I have to do the downgrade, rootkeeper, upgrade, ect...

My question is, Once I'm rooted on 12B. Can I use KDZ to pull my phones info and post it here so that someone else could download it, do the recovery, and have 12B with root saving them this PITA process we currently have to do?

I see we have a flashable 12B with root, but to flash it you need CWM and that requires root. So if you're on 12B vanilla it's back to the beginning. If we had a 12B w/ Root KDZ file we could just one step done?

This seems like if it was possible it would already have been done. I dunno enough about how it all works to know so feel free to point out how illogical this is if that's the case, I'd be happy to learn about why.
 
The whole process of going back to 10i and rooting really doesn't take as long as you think once you get some practice. Lol I got stuck in a recovery loop twice and by the 3rd time, I was getting it done extremely fast. As for your idea, the KDZ files are "official" LG firmware files, members on here didn't make them. (To my knowledge) They are/were acquired from various sources and from the LG support website. Hence why you don't see a 10i rooted KDZ on here, just a stock 10i KDZ. As far as I know copying a rooted firmware results in a .zip format which can only be flashed with CWM or TWRP recovery.
 
Thanks Nick. I could have sworn I was able to pull a KDZ file off my LG connect, but I just pulled up KDZ again and I don't see that it's possible now. Must have been a dream. lol
 
ok, it was the other program UpTestEX_MOD2_Marwin.exe.

I think I'll play around with it. If I can get a one step upgrade I'm sure people would like it. I know it doesn't take too long to do the downgrade process. just trying to simplify it a bit for the next guy.

Edit, nevermind. Not here either...
 
Yeah, if you look in one of.the 150 threads on here about rooting 12b you will find one that has the info about using that program to create a KDZ. I forgot about that, but admittedly, I don't know the first thing about coding so I wouldn't know what parts to include i.e. boot, system, data, recovery, or even what format to start with. Lol good luck man, I hope you can figure something out.
 
But if it helps, it really doesn't take long to do the 10i downgrade, I was really stuck for a while but I kind of put together a mish mash of all the guides on here in my head and figured it out. Once I did it the first time, 2nd and 3rd were easy. Now I've been on 12b with root for 2 days now and its been running perfect with no problems at all.
 
Like you I don't know enough about coding to know if it would even work. I'm guessing not since otherwise I'm sure a dev would have done it. I couldn't see a way to do it with the stock KDZ program. Some googling and it looks possible, but the downgrade/upgrade wasn't really that bad. With my last phone I swear I was able to extract it, but I can't seem to figure out how I did it. Read phone info is the only thing that looks close and it just freezes when I click it. Anyways I'm getting a new flash delivered soon so I can get SDhax goin. If before that come in and someone knowledgeable wants to point me in the right direction I'd be happy to factory reset and attempt. If not, well we can just let this thread die. It won't hurt my feelings.
