so i can get a phone that is locked on metropcs and put a tmobile sim on it and itll work? without needing to go through the unlocking processim not sure i understand the question metropcs is partnered with tmobile for ages now so your already on a tmobile network lol
its basically for someone who has a tmobile account and doesnt want to switch to metro but is offered a metro pcs version of the f6 for freeNot saying it can't be done but what's the point since metro uses tmobile network and it's unlimited calling and data on metro anyways.I don't really see the reasoning behind this the metro version of the f6 is better than the other variants.even tmobile owners rather have the metro version.I still don't see the point but good for you
As far as I know, the firmware code responsible for sim locking/unlocking does not reside in any partitions that would be modified by the installation of a custom rom. So you can't remove the sim lock by flashing a custom rom. To remove the sim lock, you'd need to ask the carrier for an unlock code. If you can't do that or they won't give you, then you'd probably need to buy a sim unlock code. Buy from a seller that will provide refund in case the code doesn't work. The price should be only a few bucks for the F6.Hey, this has probably been repeated once here or there but i couldnt find it, can i flash a custom rom thatll allow me to connect to the tmobile network w/ a sim card without having to unlock the device? and if not, whats the best way to unlock it?
You may be able to accomplish this by flashing the T-Mobile stock firmware for the f6 via kdz. I got a Samsung Avant last fall and a few people have done this trick with the avant by flashing the T-Mobile firmware.Hey, this has probably been repeated once here or there but i couldnt find it, can i flash a custom rom thatll allow me to connect to the tmobile network w/ a sim card without having to unlock the device? and if not, whats the best way to unlock it?
Yeah which is actually a lot of freaking money if you don't have Metro PCS since you'd have to sign up and pay for 3 months of phone service :/It's also worth mentioning that MetroPCS does give out unlock codes for free now but only if you've had the phone activated on their network for at least 90 days

Lol I wasn't suggesting that someone who doesn't already have a metropcs account pay for 90 days of service just to get their phone unlocked. That post was aimed at people who have already had service with Metro and may want to switch to another network.Yeah which is actually a lot of freaking money if you don't have Metro PCS since you'd have to sign up and pay for 3 months of phone service :/
