Root [MetroPCS] No default boot sound?

I didn't really give it much thought, but it would sure be nice to have a custom boot sound. The F6 has no default poweron/shutdown.wav/ogg/mp3 at all, so there is nothing to change to a custom sound. I've tried creating my own and placing them in various strategic folders, without success.

I'm open to any ideas...

Brainz, thanks for your help. I looked at the XDA link, the ROM in that thread is for the HTC Supersonic. I didn't spot anything in-depth about how to fix us up on this. Firing up my old Admire, I can see a file in system/bin called playsound, which isn't in the F6. Opening up that file in notepad does reveal a reference to poweron.wav (most of the rest of the file appears to be ascii characters).

The $64 question is, what's the easiest way to write a playsound file that would work for the F6? If it matters, I have both a Win7 and a Linux Mint box to help.

Thanks again!

f6 is written for oggs.there is an app in the playstore that changes all system sounds but only the pro version actually modifies the files.the pro versions been taken off for forever to be worked on though
