MetroPCS PSA: Look to see if your phone's affected

His Esteem was replaced by connect.
He was on vv5. zva sucks. Vv5 is better.vv5 works on both ms840 and ms840v. Vv5 has many benefits over zva. New feature Quickmemo, better performance and better battery life.

My understanding from her post is that Metro said she already has the latest SW. I only have the same bona fide tools (e.g. LG Mobile Support Tool, Cellebrite Touch) at my disposal as any other Metro store/dealer, so who am I to contradict their conclusions? I'm certainly not claiming to be an LG phone guru! If you're gonna come on here, trashing ZVA and hyping VV5, then answer her question and tell her how to install it.

Back when this came out I went to my MetroPCS store and asked about the update.

Th guy told me it wasn't for my phone.

Then I went back again weeks later and I again said it was for my phone and he said (different guy)didn't know what I was talking about regarding the update.

Went back a 3rd time and the first guy was there that said it wasn't for my phone. I told him it was for my phone and then he said it's too late to get it done or some other shit excuse.

I walked out after a few choice words.

Anyway.. I have the Connect Model LG-MS840 and the software version says MS840ZV9.

I do have problems with the 4g for the last few months or it just freezes and I have to reboot to get it back.

I go to Go to Settings  About Phone  Status and don't see anything for the MDN .

I see MIN - IMEI and ICC ID - PRL - ERI - ESN - Supported Technology (1xRTT -1X EVDO -LTE 2,4 ) and Baseband version SW_VER 1 FEB 22 2012

Where is the MDN and do I need the update ?

MDN is Mobile Device Number, your 10-digit phone number. It's right on top of the MIN (Mobile Identification Number) under Settings> About Phone> Status> Additional Status Info.

Do I need the update for my Connect Model LG-MS840 with software version MS840ZV9 ?

I know I would have to do it manually.

Officially, the latest software for the MS840 is ZVA, but I'm running VV5 with no problems at all. Look in the "LG Connect 4G" subforum for all the instructions on how you can update.

hello,
I know this thread is a couple of months old but I've got a indulge and tried to do the update via those instuctions and it doesn't pop up and ask me to update the software. It reboots, just never pops up and ask for the update. Is it too late now?
My basband version is
CDMA : r910.0.4m.ee07
LTE : SCH-R910.ed15
