Root [MetroPCS] SD card Hack to increase Internal Memory

This is in no way my work nor am I taking credit im simply providing files to accomplish said hack due to them disappearing after AndroidForums migration.

All credit goes to Jvene and WarrantyVoider and any other DEVS I left out your work is appreciated.

IF INSTALLING FRESH ROM BOOT INTO ROM BEFORE DOING THIS HACK SO THAT DATA CAN SETUP ON YOUR INTERNAL MEMORY. THIS HAS TO BE DONE. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS WITHOUT BOOTING INTO ROM FIRST.

For the best results this should be done with a class 10 SD Card.
KitKat users standby until I locate the files for it. The Steps are exactly the same.

Jellybean.

1. Partition your sd using TWRP ( or any partition software/app ). Your first partition should be FAT 32 Primary which would be used as your " SD Card" , Your second partition will be your EXT 4 primary partition which will become your new " Internal memory ".

In TWRP this is done by entering Advanced >partition SD . The size you choose is the new internal so make sure its what you want and make it EXT 4. The Remainder will be your SD Card.

2. Back to the main menu and mount your sd ext partition.

3.Back to main menu go into settings and check the option that says format using rf/rm ( something along those lines...lol )

4. Back to main then Wipe> Advanced> Wipe SD Ext

5. Back to main go back into Settings and uncheck the format using rf/rm .

6. Now flash the datacopy.zip attached to this post

7. Now flash the datainstall.zip

8. REBOOT TO SYSTEM. GIVE IT TIME TO BOOT AND YOU SHOULD BE SET CHECK YOUR NEW STORAGE SIZE IN SETTINGS !!!

 
Loving carbonrom. Sacrificed the camerafix kernel for the new one but we need those KK sdhack files. Thanks!

-Edit: I downloaded a copy that works for KitKat from Vincible (post 253 CarbonROM thread) before the files got deleted... again. Follow the instructions in the OP. If changes aren't there try again and like OP says DO NOT flash before letting data set up on internal memory.

I can use both the updated carbon kernel and camfix? Your files got lost as part of the Xenoforo move apparently. The files I got from Vincible are working for KK btw.
 
Aren't these the right files ksjd0414? They worked for me but my SD card was a class 4 and it was laggy.

Kd I don't usually do this but I tried looking at videos on Facebook. After this hack was installed it no longer can play videos yet did before. Any clue what went wrong. The swap looks perfect and everything works but it's broke. Should I try re doing the copy flash and install seems something didn't transfer right
 
Read the note below this first. If you have data you want to keep offload it to another computer, use the uninstall zip you should have gotten with the rest of the copy zips. Factory reset and reflash ROM, let it boot and set up internal memory. After boot to recovery and follow ksjd0414 steps for this and you should be done.

NOTE
Before you do that try uninstalling the hack, reinstalling the hack, use the copy zip and let us know what happened.
 
You should add a link to my post or upload the files to your original post so new users can locate them. They are the KitKat files in case you didnt know.
 
Yo, decided to just go back to stock rom after so much complications with different roms. Trying to get this thing done and the TWRP i had was removed and i got the new TWRP that needs testers. This new TWRP does not have the partition setting as my previous TWRP had. How do i continue without it? I cannot mount SD ext.
 
OK which ones are the JB files and which are KK although he said that the KK files should work with both I wanna put both so there's no problem

You can use a partition app from the play store

Little advice. If you use apps that need to attach to the sdcard like xposed installer install them before this hack and also make sure supersu is flashed in twrp. Then go to settings carbon fiber persistence and check everything. SuperSU will mount settings properly as well as xposed. If you install these things later I've noticed it blocks things like saving photos from Facebook. Just a little glitch fix I found. Did this the wrong way before I realized that. Now no error writing to cards or saving from Facebook

I was able to use the space hack and now have 2, 15GB partitions, EXT4 with 15GB and a regular Fat32 with 15GB as well

What would happen if I buy a new microSD card ?
Let's say a 64GB, partition using the same names and the same 15GB size for the EXT4 ?
Can I just swap them ?
