Root MetroPCS to Cricket

Hi All,
Ever since Metro merged with T-Mobile my calls have been dropping or not coming thru at all. Quite often I'll get a voicemail but the call does not show up in my recent calls list. If the caller assumes I know their number or that it would show up in my recent calls list, they sometimes don't leave their number on the voicemail. Obviously the concern is how many missed calls don't even get to voicemail. I complained to Metro and they said it's probably because of the merger with T-Mobile and Metro is now using T-Mobile's network.
Has anyone tried "Cricket" which uses ATT's Network?

EDIT: Model SM-G900T1 Android 4.4.2

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I went to Cricket almost a year ago for similar reasons and do not regret it.

Have you been able to ROOT your Cricket S5? Was it easy?
