Help MHL adapter no signal

Hi,

I've bought an MHL adapter to connect my S3 to my LG smart TV, but unfortunately no signal is coming out. I've come through some ideas on the net but got a bit confused.

First of all I've read somewhere that rooted phones (mine is on Paranoid Android 4.6 beta 5) do not support MHL. Is that true? And if it's true, will MHL work if I go back to stock. Or maybe are there any ROMS that support MHL?

I've also come through a claim that between the adapter and the phone I have to insert a 5 to 11 pin converter. Any ideas please?

Yeah you're right, non-touchwiz roms don't support mhl so you can either return to full stock or use a touchwiz-based rom

I'm kinda out of the loop with touchwiz roms as I don't like it. Check the all things root sub-forum for your carrier version.
I know nothing about the pins sorry
