Accessories MHL cable options?

Hi all,
I'm uncertain which MHL cable will work on my Gnex and would like any recommendations if any.
Thanks.

You've got a nice, standard, first-generation MHL device - here's what you need -

You MUST have a decent charge going in, and you MUST supply the adapter with USB power.

First generation Samsung adapters work as well but you may end up on eBay and no telling what you'll get.

You can trust monoprice.com

If shopping locally, make sure that you're looking for a 5-pin standard.

If you find something that looks like a three way cable - it's not a cable, it's an active adapter and the third leg is for power - you must power it.

Don't try anything with just two taps, MHL at one end, HDMI at the other, it won't work for the GNex.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for your swift reply. Yes, my first gen Nexus has served me well and still don't feel the need to upgrade as yet after all these years. The only thing I could possibly need is 4g internet!
You are right about certain eBayers being slightly 'ignorant' of what's needed for the Gnex with it being 5 pin.
My only concern for this adapter is that I would have to be in close proximity of a charging socket. I'm wanting this so I can watch movies etc late at night while in a hotel room and the other cables I've seen actually use a USB to plug into the TV to charge the phone (if USB socket fitted).
Thanks again.
