Micro SD card problem

In my house I found a micro SD card that no one was using (4 GB), so I figured since no one is using it I'll go ahead and use it, First I tried putting it in the computer, it detected it once and two seconds later it never detected it again.. I tried the actual micro SD card itself, my phone does not detect it, is there any way to make this micro SD work again??? (btw I broke the adapter for it... I have all the pieces, I just need to glue it all together...)

It sounds like a dying/dead one to me. I lost quite a few photos on a 8 Gig MicroSD card in an old Nokia a few years ago. It did exactly the same thing in my PC via USB adaptor. It could be "seen" very briefly by PC then disappeared and the phone would not detect it at all.

For the sake of a few dollars it isn't worth using.
