Help Microphone problem

I'm having a little problem with my microphone (I think). Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work, I can restart the phone and it will start working. Now I've found that I can put it in airplane mode, and once I turn airplane mode off, the mic will work again. I'm talking about things like the mic picking up sound in Shazam, or just trying to do voice search, or speech to text, etc. It just doesn't register as picking up any sound.

I had this same problem with my first phone, and I trouble shot it with Samsung. They thought it was a faulty phone, so I returned it for a new one. My new one is doing the same thing.

Any ideas?
