Help microphone sensitivity

When I record video on my htc-magic, the sound is recorded very quietly. (is also quiet after uploaded to YouTube etc.)

Is there a way to boost the sensitivity of the microphone?

Sound is also very quiet when using one of the voice recorder apps.

Speaker on magic is fine (if not very tinny), can hear beebplayer, utube etc. at reasonable level.

Also made sure my fingers are not covering the microphone hole (next to usb port)

Same as Mine, the mic is awfully low. I'd be interested to see if anyone can recommend anything

We also have the same issue on our HTC Incredible and I am reading it all over the net. Apparently it has been an issue and I have yet to see any solutions. Admittedly, I rarely used my phone as a "phone", but when I gave it to my wife and people complain of not being able to hear here, it is getting on my nerves. There "should" be a solution and HTC should speak up.
