hey gang,
My LG920 just went tits up on me. The power button was fried. I got it replace but burned out again within a day. I am in a bit of a bad spot. I use my phone extensively for reading class material while on the move (indispensable! as I am sure it is for many users). I am not a smartphone aficionado and I don't particularly want to become one.
I just wonder if peeps could maybe post what they think is the most robust mid-range smartphone so I can begin a quick seek and replace mission.
I do not use my phone for playing mp3's much, and I am not a huge online presence (yeah I don't even do facebook! I let the wifey take care of our social situation) ... I guess the top criteria I am looking for is:
1) durability: the phone can be banged about a bit and drop and keep on working. I would prefer to take on a little bulk if it meant better durability. In fact the slimmest, lightest smartphones sort of turn me off, since my first impression is always how flimsy they appear.
2) a responsive screen (my wife has an acer phone and the touch screen is horrid! The LG's screen response was nice, but the screen itself began to ghost on me, which was real annoying, but livable)
BTW, I have had a bad experience with Samsung customer service, or lack thereof, with other electronic products in the past; so while they certainly do not top my list, I will not write them off completely. I have the idea that HTC might be a solid phone to look at.
Again I am only interested in mid-range(ish) phones as the budget does not allow for lots of whistles and bells.
I appreciate any speedy replies as I need to get something ASAP.
