Help Migrate from SG2 to new SG3

Can I do a backup and restore to move my contacts and calendar from my GS2 to my GS3? I deleted all my contacts from my GMail account but can not get them to resync from my GS2 to repopulate

Hey there,
If you have an SD card in your GS2, you could go to the contact module, press the menu buton and you should (hopefully) get an option for import/export. Then export to SD card.
Would that option work for you?

I was hoping that I could do a backup and restore in Kies. Worst come to worst, I could sysnc via Kies and Outlook.
