Milestone In US

I am going to buy the milestone for the US. I will use it unlocked on AT&T. Will the apps work the same? Will I still be able to use it the same as a Droid, accessing stuff the marketplace etc? OR should I wait for the canadian version/

All the apps work well on any Android phone - no matter if the phone is for USA or Europe. They all use Android operating system.
