It's unfortunate it only works on the Xperia. I assume it's an exclusivity deal. Unless that changes, or Sony puts out a tablet, there'll be no large screen building goodness.
Well bro, i know at first it's exclusive to the Xperia Play. I dont know for how long though, but sooner or later it will be available for other android enabled devices/handsets.
And the idea of sony putting out a tablet does sound like a good venture for them. A Tablet you can Sync your Ps3 controller to and play on. Oh man.. just the thought of that gave me goosebumps.
Sony has two android tablets running honeycomb on them coming out the S1 single screen and the S2 is a dual screen. Both supposedly will have the playstation suite enabled for them.
Also Minecraft Pocket Edition is if I recall correctly a Xperia Play exclusive for the first 2 or 3 months then will be released for other phones and possibly tablets, this is what Notch the creator of the game has said on his blog.
Exclusive for a certain time though. After a few months it will be available across the andriod platforms.
I'm pretty sure I said exactly that in my quote you made! xD
I do look forward to playing this on either my Evo 3D or my Xoom...or both!

Looks really awful. Classic only? How lazy. I would like to mine in Minecraft. He also is not giving it for free to anyone who purchased the alpha, like he promised. I didn't expect much from Notch but this is a joke.
It IS a java-based game... it's gonna have a few problems.
Very true, but im wondering if the same bug occurred for other players as well. lol
Idc though, the game is still great, i just think its funky how i was walking around in nothingness
Same bug happens in full version, I've had it happen several times. You usually just need to reload the map.
He promise free updates to Minecraft on the PC. This is Minecraft Pocket Edition, totally different dude. I was a lil cranky at first when i found out i have to pay for it. Also! The Pc Minecraft Started out like this too, just creative.
But look at it now, Version 1.8 is just around the corner and look how it's grown.
So the Mobile Minecraft will also have updates and grow into a great game we wont be able to keep our hands off of.
And dude, this game costs less than a Lunch at McDonalds, it's no big deal.
I understood what he meant when he wrote that and I think most everyone else understood it also.

I did enlarge the picture, but I did not need to as I have read it before and to answer your question I do believe he meant "updates" yes. Also I say again, I don't need to inform "us all", just you. I think everybody understood what he meant.
When he wrote that, he had no idea how large of a phenomenon minecraft would become and could not foresee the releases of a Xbox 360 version or a Android Version, I don't think they were even on the horizon when he wrote that.
When he wrote "version" I believe him to have meant something like v1.8 of the software, which is the current version of the game you can update to.
Like I said before, if you don't like it, don't play it. If you want to complain further about it, take it to the Get Satisfaction board I pointed you towards. Maybe he will give you free copies of the Xbox 360 and Android, who knows. Notch seems to be a very level headed guy from all I've seen written about and by him.
