Mini USB Adapter?

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows of an adapter that will convert the proprietary HTC USB interface (is this Mini USB?) to a standard Micro USB so I can use all of my existing adapters and chargers?

Why can't manufacturers adhere to one standard??? My Omnia was even worse, had to buy special cables & chargers for that as well.

It's a mini-usb to USB.

USB Wall adapters are pretty universal.

I fail to see the problem here. You're given a cable, as well as a wall adapter. IF you had a wall adapter for another phone that charged using USB, you just need another miniUSB to USB cable..

I am using my Blackberry chargers without any problems.

Well, the problem is that some of my adapters are 1 piece (not separate cable & plug - such as my car adapter). And I also have other Micro USB to USB cables as well that I could be using.

I leave the main cable and wall adapter set at my bed so I can charge every night. It's just a hassle to pack that cable up and take it every where I go just so I can use it with other adapters I may already have.

And the adapter that was linked is a bit more than I need - I don't have an HTC headset, and the phone already has a headphone jack. So it's a bit more bulky than necessary.

Just trying to find something simple that will definitely work, as I'm not sure if HTC is using any kind of a proprietary pin-out for the power.

OK, after researching a bit more, the HTC's use a proprietary connector called EXT-USB, which is apparently backwards compatible with MINI USB, not Micro USB.

Argh. Too many USB's! It looks like there is a push, however, to have all phones use the Micro USB format by 2010 or 2011 so you can use your existing adapters with other phones. This will be very helpful!

So is there such thing as a EXT-USB to Micro USB adapter that will allow for charging?

If not, I suppose I'll have to spring for another EXT-USB to USB cable to use with other plug-type USB adapters.
