Root Minimoto V1.7 xt860 questions/help please

Hi;
I installed minimoto 1.7 xt860 in slot 3 using safestrap3.05.
Minimoto opens but it will not recognize my sim card.
Is minimoto xt860 not based on Bell's Milestone?
Is there a way to get it to recognize sim?
I am using a carrier that uses bell.ca network.

Failing that what is the proper way to remove slot3 in sstrap?
I did not just want to wipe or delete in case it took everything including working slots.

Don't you have an XT862? THe XT860 version is specifically for that model, I think.

I have a verizon droid3 on pcmobile using bell Canada's network.
The normal minimotov1.7 runs most things except mms messages, so I thought seeing as how milestone rom worked, xt860 might.
No such luck.

So unless I missed something, I guess the next question is how to delete the safeswap rom slot to free up that space, without screwing everything else up.(which I seem quite adept at)
