Miracast options

So I got the netgear push 2 TV for my maxx. Not happy with it at all! Set up was simple but when playing anything on my TV its very glitchy. Not watchable at all. For gallery images its fine but try and watch a Netflix movie its horrible! I used to use my HDMI from my razr and it worked well. Any suggestions? Better options? How is chromecast?

I just tried my Chromecast with the Maxx (I usually use my iPad.) Quality is fine. Video is maybe a little muted, but looks HD, no pixelization, and audio was fine.

Chromecast works perfect fit me. Haven't had any problems with it and setup is easy.

is HBO go on chromecast yet?

At this time, the only apps I know that work with chromecast is Netflix, Hulu, Play Music, and YouTube. It also works on computers using the Chrome browser. You can watch stuff on HBO's website on your computer and use the Chrome browser to cast it.

I've done this with HBOGO using my browser. It's definitely not a positive experience. Syncing the sound to the video is often impossible and the quality is sub-par.

What's the best dongle to use for miracast? any recommendations?

Whenever I researched Miracast options on Amazon, they all turned up some mixed reviews. So, I'm not sure if there is a clear winner in the field.

For sure, when doing your research, be sure that it indeed is Miracast enabled (whenever I searched for products, several were not even Miracast enabled). Also, be sure that it supports 1080p, not every one does. If you are working with any type of sound system, be sure that it has support for 5.1 or 7.1 or what have you.

A good place to start your research is miracastdongle.org.

I just got the chromecast and it works beautifully for the few apps it supports. Haven't tried the chrome browser option yet. I imagine more support will come along for other apps. I hope at least. I still wanna find a good option for accessing movies on my pc from my phone and display on my TV. Also while not at home. Whether or not on WiFi/4g. It sounds like a lot to ask for but motocast on the RAZR with HDMI output was a beautiful thing. Why do they always take away at least one cool feature for every 3 new ones? Droid x FM radio, razr no radio, unless u root, but gained motocast, now maxx but lose hdmi & motocast.:confused:

With Chromecast can I watch video from my Maxx on my Nexus 10 and tv or is there another option. Also missing my razr maxx hdmi out.

Unless ur nexus has a HDMI in then I don't think so. The chromecast dongle only works on a TV It plays only a few apps from ur phone to tv wirelessly and flawlessly.

Chromcast and Miracast work differently. Chromcast uses the mobile device to control it. Miracast streams whats on the mobile device's screen. It's a constant battery draw.

I can see a use for this in a car for navigation. But for home entertainment there are better solutions. Still, it's nice to quickly share a video or browser view.
