I'm out of suggestions. Don't use Popcorn Time, again there are legal and moral issues tied to its content, so I can't comment on whether you're having an issue with your phone or it's just a PT thing (as it doesn't store anything on its own servers). There's always pay-for options like Netflix, Hulu, Google Movies, iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, etc. that have a proven track record for reliable and stable streaming video.
