Mirroring netflix to tv

I have a galaxy Note 8. Some netflix shows won't mirror to my LG smart tv, and some do. When it wont, i just get the sound from my tv and the video shows on my phone. Is there any way i can fix this?

Instead of mirroring Netflix content from your Note to your LG smart TV, there is likely to be Netflix app on your TV to view Netflix directly. Is the TV app not working for you?
As for your Note 8, are you using the Samsung integral mirroring service (in the Settings menu), or the Google Home app, the LG TV app, or something else?

Yes the Samsung mirroring. Also no internet in house, just unlimited data from phone. Again, some shows work fine, some won't mirror the video, just sound. This seems really odd.

Ahh, no WiFi. That revelation is important and changes any suggestions I was mistakenly assuming. The problem might not be an app issue at all but more about connectivity. How do you connect your smart TV to your Note8?

I use the smart view selection in the setting of my phone and the 'screen share' input option on my tv. I had my brother try it today and it did the same thing. He has the same phone. I believe this is from Netflix. I think netflix is somehow blocking the transmission on certain shows. Since last week i watch season1 of a show, 8 episodes and had no problem. Tried to mirror the 2nd season, wouldn't work. I appreciate you thinking this through with me.

For any mobile device to cast to any smart TV, there has to be some kind of established link between the two. There's the option of using a physical cable between the two -- i.e. an OTG cable or adapter to HDMI -- but the more common situation is a home network where the smart TV is connecting over an Ethernet cable or over WiFi, and the mobile device over WiFi.
While it could be an app issue, a more significant problem is not knowing just how your phone is linking up with your TV.

Apparently your Note 8 has its own integral Miracast feature, which is a special variant of WiFi connectivity involving a peer-to-peer link (your phone is running its own direct wireless link to your smart TV).
If you're experiencing playback issues, what kind of distance is in between your Note and your TV? If you move closer do things improve? Also, what kind of setting are you in? A household with other limited homes nearby won't be an issue but when it involves something like an apartment or condo where there's a lot of competing WiFi signals there could be interference issues. And don't forget to just restart both your Note and your TV and see if the same problem is still occurring. If it is, at least you know it's less likely to be just a one-off glitch and more likely to be an actual problem to look into.

Try opening the Netflix app on your Note and in the bottom right corner tap on 'More' and then on 'App Settings'. Scroll down to 'Internet Speed Test' and see if anything what kind of bandwidth numbers you're getting. Keep in mind that standard res content only needs 3-5 Mbps, high res content 20-25 Mbps. If in case you're watching higher res content that 'could' be part of the problem (as you're using mobile data to access your Netflix account and Samsung's Miracast to transfer a stream between your phone and TV). Try going into 'Account' and scroll down to 'Playback settings' and manually set it down. Netflix playback is supposedly always doing auto-detection of bandwidth and will scale things down on-the-fly, but just as a test try doing this manually and see if there's any improvement.

why not chromecast? and since it is a smart tv you should already have netflix or you be able to get the app on your tv.

They don't have wifi. Just using the phone's data connection.

But....if they have a data connection on their phone, they could connect the smart tv to the data connection? OP have you tried that?
