Miscellaneous Files?

Lurker
I have Galaxy s3 4g LTE and ive been running low on room. I have a decent amount of music an photos so i understand that. The problem is when i went to storage settings, my Miscellaneous Files are at 9.78 GB.
I have l tried to look up what i can do to trim it down but i have yet to find an actual answer. When i click on it to see what it consists of it say 5.71 for media, but theres also a section outside of miscellaneous that says 5.28 GB for pictures and videos.
I would go and delete some of it but i cant even access it until i free up some space......

PS im a decently new droid user (last august) so i dont know all the ins and outs

Thanks

They're probably app data and cache. My advice, just buy a microSD card (a 32GB one, or a 64GB one if you can find any), and insert it into the phone then move all your pictures, video and music there. Then set the camera to save by default to SD card. That way, the only things that go into your phone are app data, and all your media (which usually takes up most of the space anyway) go to the external SD card.

Ok so i imported about 2 GB of photos and videos but in Miscellaneous Files, my media is still at 5.71 so im not sure what media files these are

Yeah thats what i was thinking of doing. An SD card seems like the most logical and easy solution, thanks.
