Help Missed call icon doesn't go away

Whenever I have a missed call, even after I check the call log the icon does not go away in the notification bar. I have to manually delete the record of the call in the call log. Does this happen to anyone else?

No. Actually the icon should disappear once you check it. Btw, did just checked in the status bar or the call log?

When using Handcent or Chomp SMS, the "1 message" on the lock screen will not go away. I have disabled all notifications from the stock message app. When I get a message, I get a notification in the notification bar (from Handcent, not stock) and read it, and the notification goes away. If I lock my phone and then go to unlock it, the "1 message" is still displayed on the lock screen, and not until I go into the stock app will it go away. I have read reports of this happening to other Optimus phones, has anyone solved this problem?

Open call log and clear the missed call list it will go ..
