Root Missing apps after flash/ update

I have this problem a lot after flashing latest update of any rom I end up with apps missing, sometimes rewiping dalvick cache works but usually it doesn't how do I get these apps back.b

You need to backup your apps before flashing then restored them again.

Titanium backup is a good free app to do that

If He isn't wiping data then he shouldn't need to be restoring any of the applications.

Not necessarily any apps that have been pushed / installed to the system will most likely be overwriten or erased

What kind of apps? Play store? System!? ROM tweaks? (Ex. Leedroid tweaks) But solution is just to backup with Titanium, as mentioned above.

these are play store/ or sideloaded apps. i do have titanium so if necessary i can restore them. the problem is that they dont show in my app drawer but may show on homescreen and when i touch icon screen says app not installed. when i go to my installed apps they show up as com.appname.etc..
