Missing Photos?

Hi! I was wondering if there is a way to recover missing photos on my phone? so yesterday i was clearing out and organizing things in my phone's internal memory. My phone was connected to the computer since i find it much easier to organize using it. There was this one folder containing at least a thousand and five hundred photos that i moved from one folder into the DCIM folder but still inside my internal memory. so i cut, then pasted the folder inside the DCIM folder. the problem is it was taking so long, the loading bar is not making progress at all, when normally moving folders around lasted for like seconds even with bigger sized folders. so i decided to cancel the move. then next thing i know the folder went missing. so i pulled out my phone off the computer and checked. I looked into my gallery and my folder showed up, but there were two of them. the one containing 999 photos and the other containing only twelve. i checked my files folder but only one of the folder shows up. the one with the 999 photos in it. same goes when i check on my computer, the only folder that shows up is the one containing more photos. but what about the rest that went missing? and how can i get it back? really would appreciate the help.

as long as your computer have not been turned off the copy should still be stored in the pc's memory. have you tried to just paste the folder where you want it? also keep in mind that 1500 [pictures total will take a very long time to move.

like dannydt mentioned you should be using google photos to sync your photos to google's server. its the best thing in the world. it does it automatically whenever you are on wifi.
