Missouri in the SEC

This thread is created in honor of newly appointed AF guide and Missouri fan, MizzouBrent. Raised as an Alabama fan and as a true SEC homer, MY OPINION is that Missouri is gonna have it rough for a good long while in the sec as far as football goes (though it is widely known that Missouri has a great softball program :p )
Your thoughts?

Mizzou is definitely going to have it rough in the beginning. I'm not saying that they haven't faced stiff competition before but not on consistent basis like they will in the SEC. Just in the west you're looking at Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Miss St (with Dan Mullen running the show they're definitely not a write off W). Looking forward to seeing the dimension they add to the SEC. That being said, I am a true SEC homer and obnoxious Auburn fan so I hope they get crushed in every conference game. :D

A&M is in the same boat in football. Both schools will make the conference better in basketball and A&M adds a great baseball team. The rich get richer.

Missouri is a big boost for Basketball, will be a middle of the pack football team IMO

I will fall out of my chair if they make it to the middle of the SEC in football. They were barely able to make it to the middle of the Big "12" in football most seasons (save 2007.)

Will utterly enjoy watching them lose in the SEC though will miss rooting with them against Kansas....

The biggest problem mizzou is going to have is fighting for recruits. Especially when you're trying to convince a high ranking prospect to choose mizzou when schools like LSU, Bama, Flordia, UGA, AU, and South Carolina are going after the same prospects. Also with mizzou coming from the BIGXII they are not going to be prepared for SEC defenses. They also dont have the depth on the O and D-line to go through an SEC season.
As most people that follow college football know the big12 was an offensive heavy conference. No team in the big12 has a defense that can prepare them for the kind of defenses they are going to see in the SEC. Also every game in the SEC is a battle. There are no "off" weeks. Even teams like Ole Miss and Kentucky are no pushovers. No more Iowa States, Kansas, and Texas Tech's. I think it's going to be a rough season for mizzou AND TA&M.

Once the season gets started I know I will be back more often. Can't wait for football season to get underway !!

meeeeeee toooo! Ready for baseball to be done with ...sadly, I'm not much of a baseball fan anymore. I wish I was, but I'd rather watch wnba than baseball
^^ kinda true

The strike in the 90s lost me as a fan. Season is way too long. Shorten it up and make it tougher.

I'm not a Missouri fan. Not because I know anything about them but during football season their ******ed fans want to drive at 55mph on I70. Get out of the way before I rip off your stupid tiger tail.

Strike lost me too, and the roids debacle was the cherry on top. Parenthetically, I watched 'Moneyball' last night. good movie, even if you're not a baseball fan.

Mizzou played uga tough in the first half, but uga's depth helped put the game away in the second half. A good, solid road-win for the dawgs. It would have been a great 1St sec win for Mizzou.

It's going to take some getting used to for me having them in the SEC, however they did play like they belong in the SEC. Now Arkansas losing to LA-Monroe that's a different story.

Hehehe. I grabbed a screen shot just in case. it's looking like a real possibility that Mizzou could go O-fer in the SEC. Turns out, Old-man football is pretty tough. But I really hope mizz turns it on sooner rather than later and infuses some more exciting offense (a la the chase Daniel days, )into the conference.
