Help MKV player for new N7?

[HanSolo]

Hey everyone, I just picked up a Nexus 7 and tried playing an mkv file. Seems that after the update to 4.3, MX Player stopped working.

Are there any other good alternatives? Thanks!

Some folks in the mx player forum say vplayer is working, but there is apparently also a test version on mx player that works. I haven't tried either, I just figured I'd wait a few days and see if an mx player update comes out.

The test build of MX Player works for me in HW mode:

The test version only shows a black screen although the audio is fine.

Are you on the new n7?

The old. Did you check that you were using HW mode, not HW+ or SW?

Lol, I was using HW+. Switched to HW and now I have a beautiful picture but absolutely no sound.

Dice Player has just added 4.3 support, try giving that a go.

Can you post a link? It's not in the Play Store on the N7 and when I try downloading it from the Play Store online on the computer, it says that the N7 isn't supported.

Never mind, found it.

Works awesome, thanks for the tip!!

This nightly build of VLC for android works great for me on the new Nexus 7:
