OK, like every year I just renewed my mlb Gameday audio package through Red Sox Nation, GO SOX!
I've already bought rights to listen to games on my computer so...
I'd like to listen via my phone at times too to untie myself away from my laptop, naturally, right?
Well Now mlb wants me to buy At Bat 13 so I can listen via my phone

Has anyone developed a workaround?
I mean I PAID mlb already....

so far;
m.mlb.com - I found settings to force desktop to go to mlb.mlb.com
flash?
I really want to listen to gameday audio via web browser on my android running ICS
ideas please?

I'm a little peeved at this myself. I paid $99 (mainly 'cuz I couldn't figure out how to stop auto payments) for mlb.tv and it does not include streaming on mobile devices. WTF??? I have to pay again for mobile? It's ridiculous.

AFAIK, it did include mobile streaming previously. In older versions, they recommended just downloading the "Lite" version and logging into your account, which would suffice. It worked for me in the past to say the least. I'm a bit curious why they would change that now, especially when that potential move could lose a load of customers.

There seems to be only one At Bat app. I logged into it. It got me nothing. :(

ya, they've pointed everything (links) to that app..

I'm surprised that there isn't a big outcry about this (or maybe there is & I haven't dug deep enough on the net)

I'll get around it, the technology software & hardware exists
it just pi$$#$ me off that I paid & their only reply is to buy "At Bat" (pay them AGAIN for the same thing I've paid them for ,,,,,,,

It's not that they didn't Include this, they aren't ALLOWING this

I contacted MLB. They told me that you have to pay one fee to hear audio on your computer and another fee to hear it on your mobile device. It's ridiculous. I'm going to cancel the one and buy the other I think.

Yeah, that is pretty silly. I cancelled my subscription last year because of blackout restrictions. I couldn't even listen to my Yankee games on the MLB Gameday radio.

Seems like it's all about money. I can't even see my Dodgers play on local channels because bright house networks has the rights to Dodger Network.

FWIW, I re-upped my MLB.TV Premium subscription with a couple buddies (we share the acct) and signed in and looks like I've got full rights. I'll test this theory out later and let you guys know.

It looks to be working fine. I didn't need an additional subscription.

I voted with my wallet...no more MLB for me. Too many restrictions. They will keep pushing the envelope until their profits are impacted. Simple economics. Suck it up or cancel.

What restrictions are you speaking of?

Archaic and arbitrary blackout restrictions is the big one.

And now having to pay for separate rights for mobile audio vs computer audio. And the price went up for the AtBat app from 14.99 to 19.99. And the AtBat app doesn't have Gameday display for free anymore...need to buy the app. Used to be free. I guess you can buy the premium TV app for $130 but it's not worth it for me.

All this from MLB which had over $8 billion in revenue last year. No thanks. I'm sure they won't miss me but if more people voted with their wallets when they felt they were being taken advantage of, then the general public could exert more pressure on corporations. But MLB is putting out a product that many people want so they will pay (even while bitching about it).

The power is in our hands (or wallets). We just need to exercise it. [Rant /off]

I'm honestly not sure what you're talking about. If you have an MLB.TV Premium subscription, you don't need to pay for anything extra. You only need to have the MLB At Bat application and then log into your account from within that application. That's it.

However, if you want to boycott the MLB - go ahead. I don't really know what that will solve in the long run.

I realize you can pay $130 for the premium account and have it all which is why I wrote "I guess you can buy the premium TV app for $130 but it's not worth it for me. "

The issue of the OP was paying for audio only. You used to be able to listen on a computer and on a mobile device. Now you have to pay twice for that privilege (and the individual costs of each app have gone up).

It's that kind of attitude that allows them to raise rates for a lesser product. To each his own. I still have an AM radio.

And FYI, sharing of accounts on MLB.TV is not allowed. It's in their terms. Best not to broadcast that info on a forum.

Why not just buy the atbat subscription? You can stream audio from PC or mobile devices. That's how I primarily watch/listen to games these days. When I'm home or out and about I use atbat plus the in-app audio stream. When I'm at work I use MLB game cast plus audio streaming..... And all I've ever paid for was atbat.

Thank you,TMobile. They gave all TMobile users the AtBat app for free this season! Plus, that includes the game of the day on video. I'll take it!!!
