Mlp

Hi. A few days ago I updated my Samsung Galaxy J7. Since then every few seconds I get these pop ups: "mlp has stopped" and mlp keeps stopping. Close app". I cannot turn off notifications on this app nor delete it or disable it from the system apps. Please help as this is very annoying. Thanks.

Could you provide more details as to what you mean by 'updated your J7'? Was it an OTA Android version upgrade or a monthly security patch update?
Not finding much online about 'mlp' aside from some references to a Mobile Location Protocol service. Since you can't uninstall or even disable it this must be some system-level app that has some fundamental purpose to the OS itself. But at least you can see it in your Apps menu. Have you tried doing a 'Clear cache' on the app? Or if that didn't make any different try 'Clear data'.

If 'Clear data' didn't help, you might want to try clearing the system cache partition. You need to reboot your phone into its Recovery Mode to access the 'wipe cache partition' option:
https://www.hardreset.info/devices/samsung/samsung-j700f-galaxy-j7/recovery-mode/
The system cache has nothing to do with your stored personal data so you don't have to worry about losing your data.
Another thing to try is boot up your J7 into its Safe Mode. Given that mlp service is apparently a system-level service running in Safe Mode won't disable it but it should show if there's any third-party app that might be conflicting with it.

If you do opt to resort to a Factory Reset, don't forget to back up all your saved data. Try setting up Samsung's Smart Switch utility:

Thanks for your reply. I tried all those things but nothing so far solved the problem. Both my wife's phone and mine alerted that there was an update and gave us the option to delay until later. I updated both phones but mine has the problem

Just so none of us waste any more time looking into this and to avoid a lot of repetition it would be helpful if you listed just what things you have already tried to fix this problem.

I wiped cache partition, I booted to safe mode, I tried turning off notifications for the app but it won't let me. The app cannot be disabled or uninstalled only force stopped but that didn't solve the problem
