Help mmm so anyone managed to go back to froyo?

Hi Chismay, I've sent you a message on another thread. So how is it going with the ginger minger then, not good by the sound of it? Is it a carrier version? So why do you want to revert back to Froyo, you are making me reconsider upgrading once 02-UK release it. Thanx for the feedback. GrahamF. London 
Am also considering going back to froyo, my wifi wont connect to anything with 2.3.3 - it just scans and says "obtaining IP address" forever. No way is it a router problem as it was working fine yesterday and my samsung monte still connects fine, also not a pw problem as have checked pw 1000 times :/
You can flash back to Froyo using the latests european firmware from samfirmware and odin,only thing is doing it this way is you will lose everything like a factory reset.
If you are going to do this though I would suggest just flashing with 2.3.4 which as I beleive irons out all of the minor bugs in 2.3.3 and supports flash.

I used ODIN to flash froyo firmware (WKA9 with multi csc from samfirmware) I then connected to KIES and it updated to latest version of froyo KB1.
Not sure whether to wait for full rollout of 2.3.3 or official roll out of 2.3.4.
For the time being I am back to how my Ace was when I bought it.

Everytime I go back to an older firmware Kies says its not supported for an update, I just want it to be like when I first bought the phone.

This is the one I used Hotfile.com: One click file hosting: S5830XWKA9.rar
It's the english language version off samsfirmware, doesn't state multi csc on there, but you should notice it is when using ODIN.
I found the update problem in KIES was due to incorrect csc code, i used XEU (UK unbranded which is what my model is).
If you need to change csc you will need your 15 digit IMEI code . dial *#06# into your phone keypad write this down, then dial*#272*IMEI CODE# .EXAMPLE ; *#272*123456789876543#.
This will give you a list of country codes - samsfirmware has a list of the correct ones for each country.
Once you have flashed the older firmware and changed csc, reboot the handset and connect to KIES, this should force update to latest froyo, maybe gingerbread, dependent on your region.
Okay I did what you said, My only problem is that my csc code is VOD and it doesn't seem to be in that list lol, but thanks for the help anyway

the only thing is i am yet to void warranty i am still keeping this as a priority i wanted to (slight) mod and update the device without goin down paths that void the warranty i like to keep a backup plan (refund mofo) so dont wanna use odin or a samfirmwares' firmware. samsung really should provide a downgrading back to froyo patch/exe

this bruva is right, the only hope we will EVER have of getting flash on the ace is the recent news of adobe working on a arm11 processor compatible flash install....should be soon hopefully

when it does lag up it lags like a mutha fecka
google maps and gmail can not be moved to sd even with the adb command taking up about 15mb internal mem'
has anyone else noticed with 2.3 dragging the screen doesn't track your finger as sensitively ?
if the sod was fixed and it were easier to do i would go back to froyo instantly

really? jongo no longer works on either my phone or tablet on 2.3, where did you get your version of jango and do you still have the .apk?
update: cheers mate re-installed jango and is now working again

im getting so pissed off with gingerbread this shit just seems to lag like a bastard when i havent used the phone for over an hour when i unlock everything is so slow.
im starting to think they way they fixed the sod was to have the phone SOFT restart while still showing as normal use.
also finger tracking is very jerky i liked showing my phone running smooth response before and now i move my finger across the screen and its just tacky looking just a jerk to next screen no smooth motion,.
also with froyo i had more memory the adb command doesnt work with 2.3 so maps and gmail takes up about 15mb internal.
ALSO, with froyo i averaged about 180mb ram use even with live wallpaper and jango radio running. with nothing running on 2.3 im using 210mb?!?!?!?

are you on 3? I Honestly dont have the problems your describing with my 2.3.3. Nothing but improvements. The only fault i get is sometimes the program monitor wiget shows one app running when there are none (which corrects when you press on it).
Fixed this in the end.
Solution - Downgraded the firmware on the router.
Explanation - Using router Netgear DNG3300v2 found that there was an
issue with current firmware (link), downgrading to the older firmware
(.42) fixed the issue. This is slightly odd as the new firmware gave no
problems with any other device or the android phone when running 2.2.x.
The only issue was with the android phone running 2.3.3 (tested with and
without network security, on N and G both on a range of channels - all
failed), it seems that the wifi standards are being tightend and android
is perhaps not keeping up. Still it appears sorted and I wont be
upgrading the router firmware for the foreseeable future as I don't want
this coming back!
