Root MMS for Sense 3.6 Sprint ROMs

I KNOW there was something on here for this but I couldn't find a simple route.

Prinny's guide suggested adding lines to the build.prop and replacing the apns.xml. Which is all good, but being at work right now I wouldn't be able to replace that file.

I'd like to flash the new revision of CoolROM for the Sprint EVO 3D on my EVO V

I can edit the build.prop lines no problem, but what about the rest. If i'm being dumb and just have to voice dial OPEN APNS and chage that info, please call me an idiot and give me the APN info.
 
I believe you have to replace the apns.xml file in the framework-res.apk from the ROM. What I do is just open the framework with 7zip, delete the old apns.xml and drop in the new one. No decompiling required.
 
Thats what a few others have said. I was just wondering. If I was home NO ISSUES, I'm just trying to kill time at work with a locked-down PC lol so I have to do everything 100% through my phone

Not sure if it would work as I have never tested it but saw a post once where someone downloaded an app from the Play Store called APN Backup & Restore. Started by flashing a 3.6 Rom with working MMS, used the the app to copy APN info. Flash ROM with non-working MMS and restore the Play Store app (titanium or however). Import APN's from the working ROM. Can't vouch for it one way or another.

That might be worth checking out if Sprint ICS roms were still popular. Thanks again I will look into it for uh...shits and giggles?

Not sure it has to be a Sense Rom to a Sense Rom, could experiment and see if it works with 4.2 VM & Sprint Roms as well ;)
