Help MMS force closed and deleted all my messages!! Help please

So like the title says...I had just sent an sms and the phone goes black and said that HTC MMS has force closed. So I rebooted the phone go back into my messages and all of them are deleted. This has also happened once before without the force close...just did it randomly after a reboot. Anyone have any idea what's up or a way to get my messages back? Is there a way to back up my messages in case this happens again? Thanks!

if you are using Antivirus or Uninstaller apps get rid of them. I had same problem, problem is gone.

I do have both. Interesting. I really don't care about the uninstaller app however the antivirus I guess is nice to have but I'm not even sure if it's necessary. I guess I can uninstall both and see how it goes. Thanks!
