Help MMS message issue

Hey all,

I have spent a good hour or two researching to try to solve my issue without starting a whole new thread but I seem to have a hybrid issue. My phone is downloading photos but not displaying the image in the text message app. (i.e. I get that gray box with the orange triangle-! symbol...not to be confused with the "message not downloaded" screen). I have looked at all my settings and all appears to be fine. In fact, I was receiving photos just yesterday. I tried downloading the photo and this is where it gets interesting...I can actually view the photo as a thumbnail but when I click to enlarge the photo, it goes to the gray box and doesn't show the image.

I have checked my messaging settings and it is set to delete messages after 200 so I don't think the mailbox is overloaded, so to speak. The truth is I have no idea and would love some help.

Save the image file. Look at the extension. See if you have an app that can display that extension. There's a good chance that you don't. Some people are sending you files that you can display, some people are sending you files you can't display.

Another possibility is that either your carrier's MMS server is corrupting the files or some people are sending you pictures using iMessage, and the conversion is getting corrupted. (Apple has been working on the iPhone-Android [or, as they officilly phrased it, "other phones"] problem for a little while now.)

Find file your phone displays using the default picture app (probably Gallery, unless you changed it). Send that to a friend. Have them MMS that picture back to you. It should display.
