Help MMS Pictures = Low quality videos?

Anyway to disable this? It makes every picture turn into a 5 second slideshow when sent? I know Gosms and handcent just send them as normal pictures.

Took the plunge from iPhone to Galaxy S3 last week.

Really happy on the whole. Takes a while to get used to it but now starting to get my head round it.

Only problem I'm having is that when people send me a picture message via MMS it comes up as a really low res 10 second long video, which is a bit crap to be honest.

Why is this happening and how do I fix it?

Its a stock android thing from what I understand. Its basically coming in as a slide show... The weird thing is it only seems to do it when someone sends a picture along with a comment. I've been riding it out so far but I think I might have to take the plunge and install gosms (third party txt app) again. I had this problem with my Inspire, the app in question basically replaces the stock messaging client.

I reallllly don't want to do it just because I wanted a stock experience but it I might have to. There are a few other ones out there that people swear by as well..
 
Depending on your carrier and the carrier it was sent from image resolution is degraded to save bandwidth. Higher quality images need to be send via email
