MMS settings on O2 UK

Is anyone getting an mms received on the Nexus as a tiny picture?

Also, has anyone solved the mms resize issue where the Nexus doesn't resize automatically so the mms never gets sent? :-(

Since I started using the settings posted above my mms has worked fine. The phone automatically compresses/resizes the image taken from my phone's camera and my old skool Samsung d900 receives the message just fine. However, receiving on the N1 doesn't work so well as the image size is severely reduced when compared to what was actually sent. But you can still figure out what the photo is if you squint ;)

In other news, my phone just turned itself off out of the blue. That's more concerning for me at this point! But sorry you're having no luck with your settings :(

Hi again

Thanks for the quick reply guys

Tried all of those things;

vertigo doesn't seem to make a difference

I've now changed the web settings to mobile.o2.co.uk

I can still get on the internet but still cannot recieve mms. I get one, it displays download button, i press it, it thinks about it and then tells me to press the button again

hello again...again

Just to let you know that its now working

Apparently you had to actually write "default" in the APN type...which is something i didn't do

Anyway, thanks for all the help

Was that in the MMS settings or mobile web?

Also, what type of o2 contract are you on? I wonder if different APN settings will get you different/better connection speeds... I'll be honest, I don't really know how they work.

I tend to just run mine from one APN. I use the mobile.o2.uk APN and just fill in all the web and MMS settings. For the connection type I use

APN type:default,mms

Hi,

I can't seem to send one either - I get the 3G comes up and arrows up and down light up.. then they go out and the message is still not sent? Have the envelope with the red circle on it..

This is what I've got (I'm on 02 monthly, not iPhone), checked on my N96..

Name: O2 MMS
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
Proxy: http://wap.o2.co.uk
Port: 9201
Username: o2wap
Password: password
MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

MNC: 10
APN Type: mms

Messages might not be sending because the default messaging app doesn't appropriately resize the attachment. Try sending a tiny file and see what happens. Sorry you're not having any luck. I know I had to fiddle with my settings for days before I got it working, which somehow killed my web access... now I can't remember if it works or not, but am just not thinking about it as I receive about 1 MMS a year ;)

Try using something like Handcent or Chomp. I know someone earlier had some success using an app to send pics. Once it works through the app it should work through the standard messenger.... btw Handcent is awesome. :D

I set my N1 up yesterday to work with MMS on O2, so these settings definitely work:

Name: O2 MMS
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
Proxy: http://wap.o2.co.uk
Port: 9201
Username: o2wap
Password: password
Server: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMS Proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 10
APN Type: mms

At first I thought the was a lock on my SIM so called O2 and they said there's no reason I cannot send MMS. So, I tweaked the settings and away it went.

I've added server back in, rebooted, still no good - can't send nor receive an MMS.

I remember having the same problems on my N96 - O2 had to send me it several times before it would work.

tbh I only get MMS from one or two people, one of which is an iphone user who thinks my phone is bobbins lol...

mobile web is working fine. Also have been using handcent, as saw that post, but still no good...

Have you checked with O2 just to make sure there's not a lock been applied to your SIM? I'm on the simplicity one month SIM (700 minutes, unlimited web etc). It's very odd that with the same carrier, same settings and same phone it works for one and not another!
