Help MMS & Signal issues - very annoyed

moraha

Lurker
First, I have to say that the signal on the S3 is TERRIBLE on T-Mobile. I don't know what's going on but with my older blackberry, I usually get a minimum of 3 bars in my room. With the S3, I get no more than 1 bar. Most of the time, it goes to 0 bars and causes texts and calls to not go through. Sometimes I'll get texts hours late.

Sometimes (very rarely), my phone goes to Edge and then texts and calls go through just fine. However, if it's stuck at 0 bars still on 4G, calls or texts don't work. Is there ANY way possible to manually have my phone use Edge once I get to my house to avoid this?

I also have problems receiving MMS images. I get a "The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction." The images being sent are no more than 250KB, and I have it set to 4MB in the stock messaging app.

Can anyone help me resolve these problems?

Yes, change phones and company. Problem solved.

I guess this forum isn't the place to get help,

On my international version (GT-I9300) I do not have the ability to go to 2g only. You can check yours but its probably the same.

Settings, wireless and networks, more settings, mobile networks, network mode...

Here I have GSM / WCDMA which essentially means voice / voice and data.

So if you had my phone, the answer unfortunately would be no

I guess I'll just have to accept that the signal isn't great on this phone.

Do you have ANY idea about the "The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction." when receiving a picture message?
