Root mms video

I have a moto droid and when i receive a mms it just shows a picture and doesnt actually show the video that is. I have tried handcent and the native messaging app. Any idea on what i should try. I am running chevy v3.0 ese81

Are you running a cyanogen rom by chance? I remember reading something about an MMS bug with it that I believe was fixed with 5.0.6.1

cyanogen 5.0.6.1 mms is working but be cautious with the themes. i had smoke glass esque and mms didnt work. then i tried clean looks by mrbobrowitz and it worked fine.
