Help MMS wont download

as of recently, when i receive an MMS, all i get is a little arrow. looks like a play button. pressing it doenst do anything. its not every time but often enough to be annoying. suggestions?

using stock text.

i should also point out that just as often as the above problem happens, another issue is, auto retrieve is selected in text settings but i still have to manually download sometimes.

its like it has a mind of its own. i dont know what is determining what comes thru and what doesnt or whats auto downloading and whats not

Try a different text app. GoSMS, Handscent, ChompSMS. They are all free and IMO better than stock.

if you have wifi on try turning it off and letting your 3g data connection turn back on,
if wifi is not on try to just toggle your data connection. even with go sms i have to do this sometimes.
