I forget which one but there is a 2.3.6 rom in the All Things Root section that comes with the mobile AP.

The rom is OA.

Only the rom OA(Open Android) comes with the ability to use Mobile Hotspot and Metro wont notice it. Upgrading doesnt even give you the the AP even though its embedded into the phone. its just one of those features thats blocked

the only other way to tether with or without cable is to use a switcher agent on your browser and make it think its an android.
