So, the backstory: I have a rooted HTC Desire 816. I did a factory reset from recovery, and now not only do I have no mobile data, I can't turn it on whatsoever. I don't even know where to begin with this one.

Help Mobile data won't turn on!

Airplane mode switch off / switch on repeatedly. then add default settings.
Check your APN settings (Access Point Names, in the mobile data settings). If these have been lost somehow you'll need to set them correctly for your carrier, otherwise mobile data won't work.
