Help Mobile hotspot subsciption work around??

Hi all,

I have an unlimited account and a Galaxy S5 that the mobile hotspot suddenly needs a subscription to work. What do I need to do to get around this little problem? My phone is at android version 4.4.4 and kernel 3.40. If I need to root it I will factory reset it as soon as I get confirmation and root it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
 
I'm sure there is a workaround, something like" WiFi teather app" (might also require some extra setup in its settings to your particular device - keep that in mind) in the play store. You'd need root access as you stated though. I don't see why we can't have that access to our paid data but then again people abuse it so I'm guessing that's part of the reason. :(
I'm not sure if discussion on this issue is permitted so mods please delete my post if I'm in the wrong.
 
I used to use FoxFi on my Galaxy S, have not tried it on my S5 with 4.4.4

I just now checked and I don't need anything extra, my phone just turned on Hotspot w/o a single complaint and said it would support up to 10 devices on WiFi.

Have no clue if it is part of my plan or not. I never bothered to look, but kind of neat to know about it now, I can use the Laptop if necessary now....

You saying that reminds me of why I had to use FoxFi on my Galaxy S Fascinate with Verizon. That phone was on the Unlimited Data Plan for over 3 years.

When I would try to turn on Hotspot, it would state "your plan does not have that privilege" or words to that effect, and it it would take me to a place to buy the Hotspot privilege.... I do not believe in that at all, I have unlimited data and how I use that data my choice, not their choice. So I installed FoxFi and used my laptop with it that way.
